I live in a nice neighborhood & while I love living here there are certain things that drive me nuts.
I’m not a fan of the commute to & from labor and you’ll encounter numerous people & some can be quite odd.
Additionally, I have to ride on the crowded subway back & forth every afternoon. Along with the trains being crowded, you must walk very quickly, or you will get pummeled by other pedestrians. You have to keep up with the walking pace of the city. Everything moves fast around here, however living in the neighborhood also has its pros because I have access to almost anything that I need. And all within a short distance of my home. Even though it has its challenges, the convenience makes it worth it entirely. Also, I love the architecture of the buildings & apartments in the city. The only thing is that various of them don’t have central air, however if you walk by most places, you’ll see window air conditioning devices because that is one of the only options available. The buildings are not equipped with the space needed to install ductwork. And a lot of apartments will either have window air conditioning devices or mini split ductless a/cs installed. I live in a co-op apartment, & I use window a/c devices in my home. Currently, I have 2 window units installed – one in the kitchen & familiar area & the other in my bedroom. This works for me because I live on my own in my apartment. If I ever make the choice to purchase an apartment in the city, I will easily opt for the ductless mini split air conditioning system.
