I live in a major city and while I love living here there are certain things that drive me nuts.
Like the commute to and from work is never pleasant.
You’ll encounter so many different people and some can be quite odd. Additionally, I have to ride on the crowded subway back and forth every day. Along with the trains being crowded, you must walk fast, or you will get pummeled by other pedestrians. You have to keep up with the walking pace of the city. Everything moves fast around here. But living in the city also has its pros because I have access to almost anything that I need. And all within minutes of my home. So, although it has its challenges, the convenience makes it worth it. Also, I love the architecture of the buildings and houses in the city. The only thing is that many of them don’t have central air. If you walk by most houses or buildings, you’ll see a window A/C unit because that is one of the only options available. The buildings are not equipped with the space needed to install ductwork. And many houses will either have window A/Cs or mini split ductless air conditioners installed. I live in a co-op apartment, and I use window air conditioners in my home. Currently, I have 2 window units installed – one in the living room and common area and the other in my bedroom. This works for me because I live alone in my apartment. If I ever decide to purchase a house in the city, I will definitely opt for the ductless mini split A/C unit.
