Purchasing a dehumidifier for my lake house

Last year, I invested in a lake house for my family. It’s always been a dream of mine to retire and spend summers relaxing on the water. It took a lot of saving and planning, but it feels so good to have made that dream my reality. Unfortunately, there are many aspects to owning a lake house that I didn’t plan for. For example, the dock needs to be rebuilt and repainted. There are many projects that I have to complete before I can fully enjoy the property. Currently, I am working on getting a dehumidifier installed as an attachment for my air conditioning system. The humidity in the home is causing the house to feel warmer, even when I am blasting the air conditioning. I find that I am wasting both money and energy. I thought that air was escaping through the doors and windows causing the air conditioning to be less effective. I consulted with an HVAC company, and they told me that it was actually a result of the high moisture in the air. In running the dehumidifier in combination with the air conditioning, the air will feel cooler due to the removal of moisture. As a result, I will not need to run the air conditioning as frequently. The HVAC company will return late this week to install the dehumidifier. I am really looking forward to it! I think this will make my lake house much more comfortable and cool. Plus, it’s one less project on my plate!
