Back on Stage Tomorrow Night for a Little Comedy Set

I basically quit doing stand up comedy a few years ago but still dabble in it now and then.

I did it long enough to realize that I am not going to “make it” in the business so I turned my sights on music.

I then realized that you don’t need to “make it” to have fun doing it so I still do it now and then for fun but not at such a frantic pace like before. I was getting on stage about 14 times a month for the first 11 years of performing. I did clubs with no heat in the winter and others with no air conditioning in the hot summer and suffered with both. It’s not like comedy isn’t difficult enough with a nice climate control system, not having it only adds to the stress of being on stage in front of tough crowds. I much prefer playing drums and singing with my buddy on the streets and in clubs, music is much more powerful than mere words alone. I hope tomorrow night they have some air conditioning in the lounge where I am performing because I am still acclimating to the heat here and it would be a shame to be sweating and uncomfortable on stage in front of my hometown crowd. Maybe I’ll bring a small fan with me and tell everyone that it is my biggest fan. Yeah, that was a bad joke, I don’t do jokes. I think I did a set in the same lounge a few years ago and remember it having a good working HVAC system.
