Living in the moment saved me on a big HVAC repair

I hate that the pandemic has taken so many people.

And I’ve definitely lost family and loved ones to this horrible virus. Living inside the air conditioning safety of my house for the better part of two years wasn’t great either. It’s been quite a life changing experience. But out of all the hardships, I’ve also seen some personal growth. I’m glad to point to some positives that have come from such an enormous negative. For me, being sent home from the zone controlled HVAC of the office was a hidden blessing. Working from home in my own air conditioning really sort of changed the way I lived my life. Prior to the pandemic, I was always striving, pushing and attempting to do it all and all the time. That resulted in exhaustion and unease. There were times I’d simply fall asleep if I sat in the air conditioning for more than a couple of minutes. But once I started working from home, I really slowed down. The more I noticed this, the more I really started to make the effort to live in the moment more. My life and perspective really did change and I’m pleased that I’ve been able to stay present once life got back to the new normal. Staying present and in the moment also allowed me to notice that the heating and cooling equipment didn’t sound quite right. Simply listening allowed me to catch a potentially serious HVAC repair very early. The HVAC professionals told me that by catching this thing right away, I saved myself a grand or so in HVAC repairs.
