We’ve had problems with the smart thermostat changing temperatures in the middle of the night after we set it to 70F for the night.
I guess it learns our patterns and adjusts automatically to suit us but we just want it to stay at 70F for the whole night.
There is nothing worse than waking up in a pool of sweat because your air conditioner decided to turn off for the night. When I woke up this morning it was 76F in the house and the thermostat was set to 78F again. I’ve gone through the owner’s manual and thought I had it figured out but apparently I didn’t. It’s kind of funny because I am a mechanical engineer and I still can’t figure out how to operate the darn thing. I guess I need to go back and get my master’s degree in HVAC systems and smart thermostats. I’m happy I did leave the engineering world because they were working me each day from 730am to 630pm six days a week and I was left with no energy at the end of each day. I was building HVAC units and heat pumps and was responsible for 26 employees, all at the young age of 26, and it proved to be too much for me so I left it and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. You don’t need to stay in the same career field if you no longer have the passion for it. Just make the jump and don’t look back. I still like to work on HVAC units but now I do it on my own schedule.
