Choosing the right type of air conditioning

When my husband and I moved into our home together a few years ago, we put all our savings into it.

We didn’t have a lot of room in our budget for projects and renovations.

One of the biggest projects we delayed was the installation of an air conditioning system. We figured that we could make due with a few window AC units for the first few years. Now, we finally have some money set aside and are ready to get an HVAC upgrade. All we have to do is agree on which type of air conditioning we should have installed. Initially, I figured that we would just do central air conditioning because I wasn’t aware that there were other options. When we consulted with an HVAC company, they said that the central air system would work well with our existing ductwork, so it seemed like an easy option. However, they also told us about other forms of air conditioning, like a ductless air conditioner. I wasn’t sure how I felt about having a clunky unit on the wall, and it didn’t seem like it would do as good of a job with distributing the cool air. We also considered a heat pump, but it didn’t seem strong enough. Ultimately, we decided to go for the central air conditioning.
