I’m glad someone at corporate finally got the message. Working for this company now for 23 years has allowed me a pretty good perspective on how our office works. The past 5 years went from pretty good to dumpster fire and it seemed like no one in the zone controlled HVAC of corporate seemed to care. The last time corporate visited, I wasn’t the only one to let them know that what they were seeing was pure facade. The local management team was really good a producing smoke and mirrors when the corporate folks were in town. But that’s about all they were good at. So many egregious things were taking place in our local office. Finally, I just didn’t care if I lost my job or not since it was so tough just to show up for work. During my brief time with the corporate folks, I singled out one person I had known for years and tuned her into the real situation. The fact that our budget numbers were pitiful only showed a glimpse of the problems. Those numbers were being bolstered by doing things like taking money earmarked for HVAC equipment upgrades to pad the anemic budget numbers. And it wasn’t just the HVAC equipment either. It was all sorts of things that were being robbed from Peter to pay Paul. I just unburdened myself but in a concise, professionals manner. It’s interesting that last Friday, the entire management team was walked out of the building. And the HVAC company is here to do those long needed heating and cooling upgrades. Finally, there is positive change afoot and better days are coming.
