My family & I went to the lake for a weekend of fun; We rented a lake house with kayaks, canoes, & a small rowboat, however my husbandy & I made the youngsters leave all of their electronics at the house.
We did not let them take any of the PCs, video games, or any songs players.
At first the youngsters were honestly aggravated about our decision. When the people I was with and I got to the lake house & they found all of the fun water toys, they did not seem to be as aggravated. My husbandy & I knew a lot of information about the cabin, however the people I was with and I did not realize that the lake house did not include any AC… It was hard to go without the comfort of AC, however the youngsters told our husbandy & I that this was the equivalent of our brutal rules of going without the PCs & video games. There were a couple of different fans throughout the condo & each room had a box fan or oscillating stand up fan. In the family room at night, I put a wet towel in front of the fan. I got rid of most of the water, so that is how wasn’t heavy. As the air from the fan passed through the towel & into the room, it was about 10 degrees colder, but even though it wasn’t a sea, it was still nice to have a small amount of relief from the heat outside! Our weekend of fun at the lake turned out to be a nice adventure for all of us. We had a pick to take a hike up the mountain & the people I was with and I saw a coyote, bobcat, & a red fox. All of those pets are native to the area, however they can be hard to see unless you are deep in the woods.
