I own an outdated home that’s been in the family for generations.
I appreciate this home as well as would not want to live someplace else, however there are some major disadvantages to residing in an older home. For example, the people I was with and I don’t have any central air conditioning. Every one of us would need to tear down some of the walls to add invisible HVAC duct. Otherwise, the people I was with and I would have to have clunky ducts on the outside of the wall, which would completely take away the charm of our home, however both chances are high-priced. Ultimately, we’ve settled for window air conditioning units over the years. I didn’t realize the people I was with and I had many other options! Recently, I l gained that you can get a ductless mini split air conditioning device that mounts on the wall. This is somewhat disruptive to our home’s charm, however it particularly isn’t any worse than a window air conditioning. Plus, the ductless mini split works so much better when it comes to cooling the room. On top of that, the ductless mini split is a lot quieter than any window device we’ve ever had. The only disadvantage of the device is that it only cools 1 room. I wish the people I was with and I could have air conditioning throughout the whole house, but I still don’t want these units mounted all over the walls. I decided to stick with 1 in the residing room for now. It has made a world of a difference, as well as I’m already considering buying another 1 for the home office. I’m so glad that the people I was with and I found a solution that doesn’t involve the upgrade of HVAC duct.
