After so many years of living in a small apartment in the city and dealing with tons of smog and pollution, I am proud to say that I am officially moving out into the country for a change of scenery and a new look on life. While there are a long list of things that I am looking forward to with this move, the thing that I am looking forward to the most is being able to breathe in fresh and cool air each day. Back in my old and run down studio apartment the air conditioning unit was so old that it was barely able to run, much less keep the place cooled down during the summer. In my new house there is a state of the art air conditioning unit installed that is twice as big and as energy efficient as my old one. At this new location I also have an amazing next door neighbor who welcomed me with open arms and just so happens to be a retired HVAC repair tech. One afternoon when he brought me over a fresh plate of cookies as a welcoming present he also mentioned to me that he does free HVAC service checks for everyone on the block for free. All he asks for in return is that we are all kind to each other. Back in the city if I asked my neighbors to turn down their music I was scared it would end up with me getting slapped, so I guess you can say I am feeling pretty happy about my new home and my new surroundings.
