It’s been a very weird 2 years for me and my wife.
But we’re so lucky and thankful to be alive and kicking.
That wasn’t a for sure situation once Covid entered our world. My wife and I both have genetic conditions which could have led to severe Covid or worse. In fact, my wife and I met each other is a local support group for our health condition. It was sort of terrifying that first year. We both stopped working inside the zone controlled HVAC of our respective offices. Eventually, both our companies shuttered the offices and sent everyone home to work from their own air conditioning. But when they reopened those offices with the zone controlled HVAC, my wife and I still had to stay at home. Thankfully, we share a lovely house with great quality heating and air. And we are best friends who love to spend time together even if it’s just sitting quietly together. Still, all that time in our house was tough and we saw several of our friends not make it. Once we were vaccinated, we felt a bit of relief but were still very careful not to stray to far from the air conditioning of home. We simply had to be really vigilant when it came to protecting ourselves from the virus. But this spring, the cases in our area have dropped dramatically. And we are venturing out a bit more. Prior to this spring, our only trips out of the air conditioning safety of home was for groceries. Now, we just had lunch outside at a cool new restaurant in town. It was just great to be out again and around other people. It’d been so long that I felt like this was the first time I’d sat to dine in my life.
