Sometimes I feel like I am losing my mind over here in Europe by not speaking the language fluently and going days at a time without talking to anyone.
Sure there are some “holas” to people here and there, but without having any heartfelt conversations it can leave you feeling isolated and alone.
I am trying to learn the language but it seems like it is taking me an awfully long time to do so. I guess I could hire someone to help me learn it faster, but it would cost me a lot of money and the heating supplier store where I work isn’t able to give me that many hours just yet. I could also try to do a language exchange thing and teach someone English while they are teaching me Spanish. I guess the local business near me does that and it would be a good idea if I went there one day to check it out. My local contractor could pay for the classes if it helps me make more HVAC system sales for them while I work there during the day. I guess it will all workout in the end and if I am diligent and consistent with my practice I will learn it eventually. I just want to be able to talk with the HVAC techs when I am working at the heating and cooling corp each week and not just stand there like a bozo trying to decipher what they are saying. Anyway, I am going to do a little practice session now and get out of here.
