I do everything I can to save as much money as possible on our energy plus water bill.
I’m 1 of those pesky people who lives with a minimal amount of personal comfort if it means that I can save a great deal of money.
That is not to tell you that I force myself to be uncomfortable all the time. The truth is that I can honestly live with less than others do. I keep our temperature control at 71 degrees in the summer. When I am not occupying the house, I set it to eighty degrees. This always saves me a whole bunch of money in the end. I hear the amount on the electric bills that our friends pay, so I am amazed at the stark difference between our bill plus their bill. One acquaintance said that they can’t live without blasting the a/c at 67 degrees at night. They reason that those cooler temperatures, the easier it is to sleep. However, I can accomplish a similar effect without running our central a/c at such an ridiculously low temperature all night long! I simply place a big fan in our room to circulate the air. I also have our ceiling fan running all through the night. During the day, I also draw the curtains plus generally try to keep the direct sun from heating up our current home to a warmer temperature that needs to be. There are a few ways to save money on your energy bills by conserving water plus energy. It’s absolutely nice to keep a lot of money in your savings account at any given time!
