The Sun heats up my room

I recently moved into a spacious apartment with our friend Bob. It is somewhat small, however it still accommodates Bob and I rather nicely. The a/c is considerably powerful, although I am seriously starting to regret choosing the room I did. It is a two dining room, 1 washroom apartment, plus our room is on the west face of the building. I haven’t bought curtains for the window quite yet, so the sunlight heats up the room considerably in the afternoons when I’m trying to work. At first, I tried to ignore the sun. I moved our laptop plus desk over to a corner of the room where the sun did not shine quite as brightly. It’s the middle of the summer time so that absolutely didn’t change the fact that it was legit warm in the room in the late afternoons. Finally, I decided that I would start turning down the temperature controls in order to compensate for the heat generated from the sunlight. I managed to get away with this for a couple afternoons. Then, Bob over on the east side of the apartment complained about it, however his room wasn’t being hit with so much direct sunlight, so he felt the change in the temperature far more than I did. It’s an absurd argument to have, so I offered in. This sun concern is absolutely starting to get annoying. I have a legit tied up schedule, although I need to go buy the curtains ASAP. I know I will buy black out curtains so that I will have no sun coming through the room whatsoever. I have a stay-at-new coding home job where I code late into the night, so being a night owl, I generally do not appreciate the sun.
