When we evacuated because of the fire, we didn’t suppose if we would have a apartment to come back to, then that was a genuinely terrifying few days.
Thankfully, the fire department was finally able to get the forest fire under control plus we were allowed to go back plus see if our apartment was still standing, both of us were genuinely ecstatic to see that it was, but some of our neighbors lost entirely everything.
Both of us were fortunate because our condo only suffered a little bit of destruction; comparatively, but however, the roof was burned pretty disappointing in 1 spot plus there was some water destruction inside of the condo from the fire fighting hoses. Both of us were able to take care of most of the water destruction ourselves. Both of us threw out what could not be saved plus after that I hired roofers to come plus take a look at our roof, however initially, we planned on just having the burned part repaired. However, the roofers advocated another idea. They told us about metal roofing. They explained the metal roofing is much more resistant to fires. However, it is a lot more fancy than more traditional roofing materials are. Both of us discussed it as a family plus then decided to go ahead plus have the metal roofing installed, after all, we are going to be living here for a while plus we want our apartment to be more fire retardant. Also, our apartment insurance will cover part of the cost as well. So there is truly no reason not to get it done at this time. I suppose I will rest easier next time we have to evacuate now.
