HEPA filters at work

I am what several refer to as an “essential” employee. Let myself and others first beginning off by saying that I am so thankful to have a task in this alarming time plus I prefer the prefer plus support I’ve received from friends plus family as I continue to toil hard. With that being said, it is so odd here at the office. About half of the staff is absolutely here plus those who are here- including myself- are in a odd funk. One thing our supplier did that I absolutely appreciated was take an active job in improving the indoor air conditions. Not that the indoor air conditions was bad before, but now that the coronavirus outbreak has gotten so bad the indoor air conditions has gone way up. In addition to adding media air cleaners all over, they have had the HVAC duct cleaned out plus they have added HEPA filters. I knew all about the media air cleaners plus the HVAC duct, however I had never heard of a HEPA filter before (it sounded love a government agency or something!). HEPA stands for High-Efficiency Particle Absorbing. HEPA filters are the genre of air filters that hospitals use! Most other buildings plus homes use MERV filters. MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. Basically, the differences between a HEPA filter plus a MERV filter are that HEPA filters produce better air quality but low efficiency while MERV filters produce mediocre air quality but much higher efficiency. If all of us were not in a global pandemic, I would genuinely encourage people to go for a MERV air filter, but- circumstances being what they are- a HEPA filter might be a fantastic idea. Take it from me, I see a large difference in the air quality since my supplier switched to a HEPA filter.
