The makeshift AC worked out very well

My family and I went to the lake for a weekend of fun.

We rented a cabin with kayaks, canoes, and a small rowboat.

My wife and I made the kids leave all of their electronics at the house. We did not let them take any of the phones, video games, or any music players. At first the kids were very upset about our decision. When we got to the cabin and they found all of the fun water toys, they didn’t seem to be as upset. My wife and I knew a lot of information about the cabin, but we did not realize that the cabin did not include any AC. It was difficult to go without the comfort of AC. The kids told my wife and I that this was the equivalent of our brutal rules of going without the phones and video games. There were a couple of different fans throughout the house and each room had a box fan or oscillating stand up fan. In the bedroom at night, I put a wet towel in front of the fan. I got rid of most of the water, so that’s how wasn’t heavy. As the air from the fan passed through the towel and into the room, it was about 10 degrees colder. Even though it wasn’t a sea, it was still nice to have a small amount of relief from the heat outside. Our weekend of fun at the lake turned out to be a nice adventure for all of us. We had a chance to take a hike up the mountain and we saw a coyote, bobcat, and a red fox. All of those animals are native to the area, but they can be difficult to see unless you are deep in the woods.
