As a apartment owner, I have a lot to learn, i realized that my home heating plus cooling runs through an expansive network of ductwork.
I assumed when I got the apartment that this was something I’d be able to do on my own, then well, in short, my assumption was wrong.
I ended up hiring a team of Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C professionals to come plus clean the ductwork, however the cleaning process required tools I genuinely would not have had on my own. The Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C professionals used high powered vacuums plus rotary brushes; Apparently these tools are used to agitate the dust, or to disloft some of the dust that has settled into the ductwork. When the dust plus allergens are loosened up a bit, it makes it easier to vacuum them out. While I’ve heard that there are ways to clean ductwork on your own, after seeing it done, I assume I will leave this job to the professionals. You only need to clean your ductwork once every 3 to 5 years, so it’s not care about it is a silly expense to keep up with. After the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C workers were done cleaning the ductwork, the air quality felt so much better! My flu symptoms improved significantly. I assume there was more dust caked in that ductwork than I thought!
