Grocery store is a regular customer of HVAC business

Today was a slow day, not many people requesting HVAC service.

But then a few minutes later my boss came in and told me that the grocery store scheduled another furnace fixing appointment.

He didn’t have to tell me the name or anything, I knew exactly what store he was talking about. Our HVAC corporation has a very regular customer, and that customer is the owner of the grocery store. For the past couple years or so, they have been trying to revive their heating back to normal working condition. I have worked on that same furnace time and time again, and each time I already know that when I fix it, it’s only a matter of time until it breaks again. Usually only a month or two goes by before the grocery store owner has to schedule another appointment. So I hopped in my HVAC van and drove over there to see what the issue was this time. The owner greeted me and told me he just wanted the heating device fixed again, nothing else. I briefly looked over the heating component, but I knew fixing it would be a waste of time. I told him that he needs to get a new gas furnace. No if, ands or buts. He seemed hesitant, but I told him that he had invested so much money into this old inefficient furnace, he could have had a brand new heating device right now. He seemed to understand, and started asking for new HVAC technology. I suggested radiant heated flooring. His store would be the only store with heated flooring if he decided to go with it. He definitely seemed interested, especially since it was very cheap to install.
