A lot of plants go dormant when the weather outside gets to a particular temperature

There are a lot of different hobbies that are fantastic coping mechanisms for depression and/or anxiety.

  • When I was a kid, I used to build rail-lines as well as scenery for my model train set.

My Grandpa purchased it for me for Christmas one year as well as I used it always until I got to high college. By that point I had a crucial area of the basement devoted to my model building hobby. Unblessedly, my depression got worse in my high college as well as college years love it does for pretty much everyone, as well as I needed to find better coping mechanisms. Although fishing as well as hiking were regularly some of my most favorite outdoor activities, they required getting in the vehicle as well as driving to another location. Unlike some people, I don’t live in a location where I can walk behind my lake house as well as go hiking in the woods or fishing on a lake, river, or canal. Instead, I started caring for decorative cacti as well as succulents. Every year I have to bring them indoors before the temperatures outside start to drop below 32 degrees fahrenheit. If they freeze for a few hours or longer, it can completely kill some of the cacti. Otherwise if temperatures stay above 32 degrees, the plants will simply go dormant during the winter. Aside from lower temperatures, there is less sunlight during the day. All of my ornamental cacti will suffer from getting skinny sections of growth if I don’t bring them indoors in the winter. This way they can stay moderate from the indoor heat while being kept out of the sunlight enough to prevent the effect of etiolation on the plants.
