Radiant flooring in an old home

After owning my house for 10 years, I decided that I wanted to add radiant flooring to the bathrooms.

We started noticing that each winter, we were getting colder and colder in the house, especially in the bathrooms.

My husband said that it was due to the heater not working as well as it did when we first bought the house. When we first bought the house, the heating and cooling system was 10 years old. Therefore, the heater has been heating the entire house in the winter for 20 years. That is a long time for an HVAC system to run. Anyways, our neighbor recently had radiant flooring installed in their entire house. Personally, I think that is a bit dramatic. I don’t think that it is necessary to have radiant floors in all of the rooms of the house, especially if you are not using several rooms. I like the idea of being able to get out of the shower during the winter months and step on the radiant floors. I am not interested in replacing all of the carpet in order to have radiant floors. We live in a climate that does not get that cold. We do not even experience snow in this region. If we lived in a region that experienced snow, I might consider putting radiant flooring in all of the rooms in the house. I like that we are able to use the radiant floors in the bathroom as we please.
