if the climate is hot and humid. The Southeast faces this problem every single year. Mild summers are practically unheard of! It's no surprise that heating and air conditioning companies are extremely busy during the summer months in this part of the country. One of the reasons is that some people don't seem to make the connection between maintaining a cool and comfortable temperature in their home, and how much more difficult that is as the temperature increases outside. Some people don't seem to realize that the higher the temperature and humidity is, the harder their air conditioner system has to work in order to keep them cool and at their preferred temperature. This is especially true for people who insist on setting a consistently low temperature on their thermostat in spite of extremely high temperatures outside. The air conditioner system has to work much harder, and it causes the kind of wear and tear that can cause a system to completely fail. Obviously, one tip off that your air conditioner system is working harder is a higher energy bill. Some people may actually be willing to pay higher energy bills to keep cool, but these people also need to understand that the cost for HVAC maintenance will also be quite steep If they do not maintain their unit. In short, if you get a lot of use out of your air conditioning system, there is going to need to be an equally proportional amount of service done on the unit If it is going to last for a significant amount of time. It may be a drag to pay service fees, but they are a lot less expensive than completely replacing an HVAC system.

Shade from trees factors into keeping your home cool   HVAC zone control

I recently moved into a new home in a very nice neighborhood. The housing development was recently established. The lots have only been available for just a few years, but there are still many families already here and well established. I really like my new home. I like the design and I appreciate the spaciousness. However, I feel like there were too many trees cut down! My other house was at the edge of a small forest and my home was hemmed in by trees on three sides. I never really thought about the fact that this offered an ample amount of shade, which naturally made my house much cooler. Now that I live in an area that has far less shade, I have come to realize that my air conditioner unit did not have to work nearly as hard in my previous home because of the shade. Though I enjoy my new home, the sun bares down on the house throughout the day, and it makes it significantly warmer than what I am used to. The sunlight is also a little too intense for my liking. I will have to try and mitigate the effects of the direct sunlight on my windows by investing in heavy, dark curtains. I am sure this will reduce the strain on my air conditioning system and keep the home generally cooler and more comfortable. Sometimes, you don't even realize that you are benefiting from something until you lose it. Like I said, I love my new home but I will have to get used to the lack of shade.

There comes a point when maintaining an old HVAC system is too expensive a/c care

I am used to pinching every penny out of every service and product that I use. I love my home and it has had the same heating and air conditioning system for almost twenty years. That is on the extreme end of an HVAC system's life cycle. I have kept the HVAC system well-maintained with regularly scheduled maintenance, and in short, all the necessary care to get as much life out of the HVAC system as possible. However, machines break down over time, just like everything else, so despite all of the upkeep, it was no longer tenable to try to keep my old HVAC system after two decades. Service visits increased in frequency. Telltale noises developed indicating that the HVAC system was on its way out. I was loath to pay the price to purchase and install a brand new HVAC system, but I knew that the service costs for my old system were piling up, and it would soon cost more to try and maintain the old system than purchase and install a new one. Finally, I resolved to purchase a new HVAC system. I consider myself to be frugal with my money, but I decided that if I was going to purchase a new system, I would make sure that it was a cutting edge and super-efficient model that would serve me well for at least as many years as my old system. Everything turned out great with my new heating and air conditioning system and I am very satisfied.
