Acid reflux insomnia and HVAC work

I have really bad acid reflux. I can’t eat spicy, fattening, salty or sugary foods anymore. No more tomato based products, sodas, citrus fruits or chips anymore either. I basically can eat a miniscule amount of fruit, any vegetable I want and grains. I need to ensure that I eat small portions rather than three large meals too. Another rule to acid reflux is eating and giving yourself at least three hours before bed. No snacking at all. I also need to sit up straight while eating and not drink during the meal. Acid reflux has really ruined my life. At night I still get flare ups. I typically wake up around 2:30 am and I am in pain until around 5am. I use that time productivity though. Rather than lay in bed and be in pain, I do some work. Sometimes I am writing blog posts, website content or doing social media posting for HVAC clients. I work for an SEO business that exclusively deals with HVAC. I can get quite a few heating and cooling based articles in that time. Sometimes I research about the different pieces of HVAC equipment just so that my writing goes easier later. Occasionally after doing so much heater and AC work, I do take a look at my unit. I will clean oil, lubricate the fan belt, muck out the condensate drain or replace my air filter. I have even started looking at hiring ductwork cleaning when I have late nights like this one. At this rate I will have a whole new HVAC unit.
