My Dad plus I run a nail salon together, however I like what I do! I like getting creative with our patrons’ nails, then the month leading up to high school prom was constantly our most tied up time of the year, but people would book with myself and others weeks in advance, so that they could get nail art to match their prom outfits… But last year, a few afternoons before prom week, our Dad plus I were met with a surprise when the two of us opened up the salon in a single afternoon. It was humid, plus the smell of our nail chemicals was overwhelming. I went to adjust the control unit, but found that the air conditioner unit’s fan wouldn’t even turn on. I went to the department store next to the salon and then bought several fans. I put them all around the store in strategic locations, to ventilate the space plus possible… Nail salons use a lot of pungent chemicals, plus our Dad plus I do our best to manage the circulation; our heating, ventilation plus A/C plan is integral to that process, so while I was working on the fans, our Dad called an actual heating, ventilation plus A/C dealer. The contractor arrived an hour or two later, plus the few customers that the two of us had that afternoon were luckily entirely gracious regulars who didn’t trust anyone else with their manicures, and she assessed the system, plus determined that the two of us needed a modern compressor. I asked despairingly, “Will it be installed before next week?” The contractor smiled plus said, “It’ll be installed by the end of the day! I have a component identical to yours in our local shop right now, I just need to go pick it up.” By the time prom month started, plus I was booked sun-up to sun-down, our ventilation in the salon was even better than before, however both of us absolutely dodged a serious bullet!
