The A/C machine coils were totally frozen

When it’s incredibly tepid outside, the AC machine can only cool your residence about 30 degrees lower than the outdoor temperatures.

You certainly can try to turn the thermostat down lower, but then you risk the actual chance of freezing the coils in your a/c machine.

This concern happened to me a couple of months ago, and it was a usual summertime afternoon as well as the outdoor temperature was close to 95 degrees. It was truly tepid as well as the humidity was reaching 100%. I had the thermostat in the residence set to 68 degrees, but it was 81 in the residence. The a/c machine was running all afternoon, so I decided to turn down the temperature. It was warm in the residence as well as I thought it wouldn’t hurt if the temperature was set to 75 degrees. After a short while, I noticed that there was not any frigid air coming out of the HVAC vents in the least. In fact, the air started to truly feel warm. I went into the garage as well as I made the choice to check the air filter. I noticed some water dripping from above, so I removed the front of the a/c machine. It turned out that all of the evaporator coils were covered in a thick sheet of ice as well as frost. I do not recognize how it happened, although I managed to freeze all of the coils solid. I had to call an a/c machine repair company for help. Thankfully, the lady on the phone was able to tell me that I could turn off the a/c machine as well as let everything thaw out. Then she told me that I could schedule a repair call, however she told me it might not be necessary if I did not have a good amount of extra cash.
