Two More Weeks in the States Then off I Go

It is going to feel surreal when I walk into my flat in two weeks and start my other life overseas as I have been here in the US for a couple of months already.

But, I am here for about as long as most people go on vacation, so I will pretend that today is my first day here in the US and start all over from scratch.

It feels nice being here in my dad’s house where the HVAC system keeps it nice and cool, as opposed to sweating like crazy in some of the flats I’ve lived in overseas with no climate control system. A lot of people live without heat or AC over there and just suffer needlessly when all they had to do was buy a small portable heater or AC unit and live in comfort. I guess some of them are so broke that it isn’t even an option to buy something like that. Then again, some people I have come across over there say that they don’t like air conditioning because it messes with their sinuses by drying them out. I myself couldn’t live without my AC and heat in the hot and cold months, respectively. I guess I am a bit spoiled but I like to be nice and cool at night when I sleep, even keeping a small fan at my bedside to add an additional layer of cooling beyond my central air conditioning system. I’ve also gone through a winter without heat and it was one of the worst winters of my life.
