The last job of the day was a real doozy

Friday was the last day of the week for me.

I was scheduled off on Saturday and Sunday for a change.

I told the boss that it would be nice to have a whole weekend off and I guess he was listening. I’ve been with the heating and AC repair company for 6 years. I haven’t asked for a weekend off in a while. I was happy to see the boss give me exactly what I wanted. Friday was a very busy day and time seemed to move very slowly. I’m sure it was due to my excitement and anxiety about the weekend, but the 8-hour day seemed more like 12 or 15 hours. My last job of the day turned out to be a real doozy. One of our commercial clients called because the chiller wasn’t getting cold enough. The chiller is responsible for refrigeration at very cold temperatures. We handle these services in the commercial division and killers are actually one of my specialties. The boss chose me for the job because of that reason. The problem with the chiller turned out to be a temperature gauge problem. I had to travel all the way back to the workshop to get parts for the machine. After I changed out the thermostat, I had an entirely different problem. I spent almost four hours troubleshooting the machine before all of the errors and problems were fixed. I didn’t get home until after dark. It was a long day, but I had two days off to relax after it was over.
