I had to get some X-rays done on my foot last week and I thought that I was actually going to freeze to death while I was in the exam room.
I can’t remember the last time I was that cold, to tell you the truth.
It was the last week of summer and the temperatures outside were still pretty warm. I remember having to use the air conditioning at home that week, but for the most part, it wasn’t all that hot out. However, the people in the doctor’s office seemed to be under the illusion that it was burning hot outside. They had the air conditioning in the office building cranked up like you wouldn’t believe. When I first walked into the building, it felt as if I was literally walking right into a meat locker or something. To make matters even worse, I had to take off my clothes so that I could go into the x-ray area. I was freezing in that room, because they had the air conditioning running on full blast the whole time I was there. I was trying to stay warm underneath the little paper gown that they had given to me, but the cold air just kept blasting right through the air vents. I thought that they would literally never call me back for my turn, but when they finally did, it was no warmer in the next room. It was so cold! They certainly weren’t having any trouble with their air conditioning system, that’s for sure. I finally got my X-rays finished and got out of there. By the time I made it to the car, all I could think about was getting the heating system turned on.
