I used the old HEPA filters to help provide air purification for my new home

It was a few years ago when my brother bought me a pack of HEPA filters for my HVAC system. I thought it was a very nice gesture, but the HEPA filters weren’t the right size for my HVAC system. He said they were on sale so they couldn’t be taken back. I told him not to worry though and I would find a use for them eventually. I wasn’t sure at the time, I thought maybe I would move to a new house that did have an HVAC system that would work with those HEPA filters. Well, they just sat in a box for the longest time until I bought a new home. This house doesn’t have a central HVAC system, just a boiler system and a bunch of window A/C units. Something that I realized was that the window A/C units certainly weren’t filtering the air, and also the boiler system wouldn’t do that either. The air quality was pretty bad, I came to realize, so I started using my portable air purifier. Then I realized that I had a ton of box fans and I had those HEPA filters. While I thought it was kind of ghetto, I decided to tape the HEPA filters to the box fans and placed them strategically around the house. I was actually surprised because these HEPA filters worked surprisingly well at improving the air quality throughout the house. I no longer saw a ton of dust floating everywhere and I realized that this was a cheap way to have air purification in your home. I mean, if you’re embarrassed about makeshift air purification, maybe go for an official UV air purification system. Of course if you’re like me and you prefer to utilize what you have available, cheap air purification can be yours!
