I recently purchased an RV for traveling around the country. I have really been enjoying my travels, and I've seen many beautiful places. Being retired and finally having the opportunity to travel the country and explore has been quite the boost to my happiness. Initially, I was apprehensive about traveling in an RV because of climate control concerns. I knew that the walls of an RV are obviously much thinner than those of a house, and I was wondering how I was going to keep warm. I had to do a few things to make sure that I could be as warm as possible on my travels. I had to go looking for air leaks throughout the vehicle and make sure they were patched. I also knew that I would have to dress in a few extra layers in general, because I would not be able to rely on super effective climate control. Probably, the most effective way that I dealt with the cold in my RV, particularly at night when I was sleeping, was using electric blankets and a small portable heater. The small portable heater was powerful enough to pretty much heat the entire RV at night when I needed it the most. I ended up being rather snug and cozy and I was so glad that I finally found a way to keep comfortable in my RV. The only question is, how will I keep sufficiently cool when the summer comes in the hotter parts of the country? I’m sure I will figure that out as well.

I love cats. I find them so cool looking and I feel they get a bad reputation for no reason. I am always trying to find cats and give them good homes. I will take strays to the vet and get them spayed and neutered. I will feed the strays behind my home and give them water. I have really gone to town on cat shelters too. I have a giant backyard shed that was going to be a work out space for me. I have a huge feral cat community now. So I have upgraded the space into a large cat house. What I do is I have cat beds, automatic feeders and watering systems for them. Inside the shed there is bedding, ledges and scratch posts for them. Another addition was heating and cooling. My area is mostly hot. That shed used to get steaming in the summer. So now the cooling system keeps the area a comfortable 75 degrees. Most of the cats elect to stay in the AC over the summer rather than hang around outside. When the winter season comes, the heating system kicks on. No cat is cold and without shelter. I have a smart thermostat in there so I can adjust the temperature at will without going into the actual facility. It is the best solution for the cats and I both. They are happy and I am happy. I love knowing they are the right temperature and are safe at night. I wish I could bring them inside my home but some cats just won’t allow it.

I have been to quite a few get-togethers, but none as bad as this one. I was just hired a month ago into a new job, and I guess our boss thought that my coworkers and I hadn’t spent enough time together, and wanted to build our relationships for better work ethic. I wasn’t overly eager to go, but I went anyway. When I entered the building the first thing that I noticed was that the building felt incredibly hot, but not only that, the air was also dry and it made it rough to breathe. I was already regretting my decision, but I wanted to make a good impression. I looked at the food that was offered, and it consisted of stale cheese and other mysterious looking foods. So I didn’t end up eating anything, and I tried some awkward small talk which didn’t improve the situation. I kept coughing due to the bad air quality, and after an hour, I finally left. I probably stood outside and took 5 minutes to breathe in the nice and clean air. I was so glad to get out of that overheated stuffy air building. I was so glad to get home to relax, and turn on the heating and air conditioning system for some nice clean cooling air. Watching some of my favorite shows pushed the bad experience and awful HVAC and air quality in the back of my mind. I hope our boss doesn’t plan anymore of those any time soon.

if the climate is hot and humid. The Southeast faces this problem every single year. Mild summers are practically unheard of! It's no surprise that heating and air conditioning companies are extremely busy during the summer months in this part of the country. One of the reasons is that some people don't seem to make the connection between maintaining a cool and comfortable temperature in their home, and how much more difficult that is as the temperature increases outside. Some people don't seem to realize that the higher the temperature and humidity is, the harder their air conditioner system has to work in order to keep them cool and at their preferred temperature. This is especially true for people who insist on setting a consistently low temperature on their thermostat in spite of extremely high temperatures outside. The air conditioner system has to work much harder, and it causes the kind of wear and tear that can cause a system to completely fail. Obviously, one tip off that your air conditioner system is working harder is a higher energy bill. Some people may actually be willing to pay higher energy bills to keep cool, but these people also need to understand that the cost for HVAC maintenance will also be quite steep If they do not maintain their unit. In short, if you get a lot of use out of your air conditioning system, there is going to need to be an equally proportional amount of service done on the unit If it is going to last for a significant amount of time. It may be a drag to pay service fees, but they are a lot less expensive than completely replacing an HVAC system.

Shade from trees factors into keeping your home cool   HVAC zone control

I recently moved into a new home in a very nice neighborhood. The housing development was recently established. The lots have only been available for just a few years, but there are still many families already here and well established. I really like my new home. I like the design and I appreciate the spaciousness. However, I feel like there were too many trees cut down! My other house was at the edge of a small forest and my home was hemmed in by trees on three sides. I never really thought about the fact that this offered an ample amount of shade, which naturally made my house much cooler. Now that I live in an area that has far less shade, I have come to realize that my air conditioner unit did not have to work nearly as hard in my previous home because of the shade. Though I enjoy my new home, the sun bares down on the house throughout the day, and it makes it significantly warmer than what I am used to. The sunlight is also a little too intense for my liking. I will have to try and mitigate the effects of the direct sunlight on my windows by investing in heavy, dark curtains. I am sure this will reduce the strain on my air conditioning system and keep the home generally cooler and more comfortable. Sometimes, you don't even realize that you are benefiting from something until you lose it. Like I said, I love my new home but I will have to get used to the lack of shade.
