Sometimes my family can be rather weird about things.
- They will let issues go on for years rather than addressing them, because they consider themselves tough enough to deal with any circumstances.
Obviously, this isn’t a very healthy state of mind because there are absolutely periods in life when you need to seek outside help or address things in a timely manner. This is the case when it comes to doctor’s appointments and strange looking moles. It also applies to strange sounds coming from your vehicle needed for a daily commute. Most importantly, I think we can acknowledge that our central heating and cooling systems need a lot more professional attention than we tend to give them. You see, and my family there is a strange reluctance to utilize any kind of professional HVAC technician for routine diagnostic appointments, heating and cooling cleanings, or even repair services. Everyone in my family lives with dirty indoor air, high energy bills, and loud central heating and cooling systems. It turns out, my mom took this hatred of the HVAC industry even further for the past several years without telling us. Apparently, she had been living with strange sounds coming from her walls for over two years. At night when she lay down to sleep she heard strange skitterings coming from the air vents but she never investigated the air duct work because she didn’t want to know how much the HVAC repair costs might be. When I finally heard about this mysterious disturbance emanating from her walls, I called out an air quality control specialist. It’s an understatement to say that he was shocked by the thousands of mice that had been habitating her extensive air duct system.
