Flighty horse and loud AC unit

It’s always interesting coming back home and spending time on my mom’s little horse farm.

She has an adorable little piece of land with cute miniature barns and even miniature horses to go along with the miniature set up. It’s always fun to come up and spend some time with the large animals, even if they can be quite dangerous at times. The problem with horses is, they are fairly unpredictable animals. They get scared rather easily and because they’re animals of prey, they want to take off running. This is an issue when you’re trying to move them from place to place and your arm is tethered to their face. It’s a bigger issue when you have extremely loud air conditioning systems located all around the farm. You see, my mom has an extremely outdated cooling system that allows her home to have an ice cold indoor temperature. The AC unit still works quite well to deliver cold and dry indoor air, however it is bulky, loud, and operates rather frequently. This is an issue when you’re bringing a flighty horse from pasture to pasture and the cooling system suddenly starts operating. Out of nowhere, these massive banging and humming sounds start up when the air conditioning unit kicks into gear. Inevitably, whatever horse you’re walking is taken by surprise when the cooling system starts turning out cool air. It’s hard to predict when the central HVAC system is going to start running, so the only solution is rather inconvenient. Before we go work with the horses every day, we have to turn off the central cooling system entirely or risk having our shoulders dislocated.
