I am trying to remember the past winters being this cold.
Everyone was putting non more layers, and I had never been more grateful for the days I could work from home.
This winter, temperatures drop every day. Even though the HVAC at the office was excellent, nothing beats staying at home in pajamas, socks, and fluffy house shoes. Did I mention unlimited access to all the food in my house? It is pure bliss to work from home, but then again, one has to put in extra work to keep fit since, at home, there is little to no movement. I invested in a ductless heat pump that has been of much help. I had sifted through various HVAC brands to find one that suited me best. During the HVAC installation, the HVAC professional advised that I consider a zone control system, but I was not financially able then. I contacted the HVAC business a year later for the annual HVAC maintenance and to have the local business expert install a zoned system. I made this decision when I read about how this new HVAC technology would save a substantial amount of energy. The HVAC repairman told me I had to get a thermostat for each room for the quality HVAC to work effectively. The new contractor came and set right to work. After all the work on the HVAC unit, it provided better help with indoor comfort and air quality. Thanks to the skilled HVAC provider, that night became one of the most comfortable nights. I even had a backup air filter on standby. It was a delight to be in my house regardless of the weather. When the electricity bill came the next month, I was happy to find it considerably lower than before the modification.
