My home was perfect in a lot of ways, and really, I didn’t want to change that much of it. However, I did know that there were some parts of the home that needed to be repaired. For example, the paint was chipping off in certain areas, so a fresh layer of paint was in order. This gave me the chance to paint the walls a new color. The second repair, and actually the biggest, was the HVAC machine. The A/C device had done a fantastic job of heating and cooling the home for many years. But since it was getting up there in age, it needed to be repaired more often. I didn’t mind this, that is to be expected of air conditioners and other devices when they start getting older. The machine was probably about 14 years old, so not old enough to need to be replaced just yet. I predict having another 6 or so years of it at least. I even asked the professional HVAC serviceman what he thought, and he told me as well that it will last a long time. This was reassuring to hear, so even though my home needs some repairs and updates, they really aren’t much to worry about. I might move within the next few years, so if I do, the air conditioner problems will be something for the next owner to worry about.
