I see a bit of green when I’m in the company of those who can take care of just about any household repair.
This has to do with the fact that this is so not something that I am at all capable of.
Nor have I ever been handy at all and have never completed a repair or a home project. I work at a stressful career. So I like to come home from work and kick back in the HVAC comfort of my living room. There is no way that I’m about to jump into some sort of project or anything like that. Thankfully, I have a mate who knows this about me and still loves me anyway. Fortunately, we have a handyman that picks up all of that slack. And I gladly pay him as he is worth every single penny. Recently, the HVAC was acting weird. I could tell that it was running but it wasn’t cycling off the way it normally does. I reached up to feel the air and it wasn’t cooling the house at all. That was odd since it was almost 90 degrees outside. True to form, I called the handyman and asked him to come out to have a look at the HVAC. This was the first time that he ever flatly refused to do any sort of repair or project. And he told my why in no uncertain terms. This guy explained to me that the only person I ever want even touching the HVAC equipment is a licensed professional. He went on to rattle off all the training and expertise these people had. It was very clear. So, I picked up the phone and called the HVAC professionals and will always be doing that in the future.
