Hours went by & the people I was with and I were soon layered on sizzling clothes & under blankets.My dad finally decided he wasn’t going to be able to fix it up.
Furnaces were supposed to keep our homes sizzling right? Well, that wasn’t’ the case for us one bleak Winter! My father always liked to do his own strange jobs around the house; He was usually fairly handy, however sometimes he would never disclose when he didn’t think what he was doing or actually screwed something up pretty bad, and one cold fall evening my dad decided that he needed to get the natural gas furnace ready for Winter. Our heating & cooling method were in one unit, so he had to tweak it a bit to transport it was the cool air to sizzling air.He started down to the basement with his little tool bag & wasn’t down there long before the people I was with and I heard a loud noise from under the house… It was the sound of furnace kicking on & for a hour the people I was with and I were all so relieved… That feeling didn’t last long because it soon started blowing extremely cold air. The people I was with and I all yelled down to my dad, although he said he already knew it & was working on it. Hours went by & the people I was with and I were soon layered on sizzling clothes & under blankets.My dad finally decided he wasn’t going to be able to fix it up. He called the local Heating, Ventilation, & A/C company & they agreed to send someone up to our apartment to help! A friendly Heating, Ventilation, & A/C expert came to our apartment & spent a few hours in the basement. Of course, my dad was hovering over him. The people I was with and I were all still cold upstairs; Eventually, the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C specialist got the furnace working & the current home warmed up after an hour. The people I was with and I don’t ever let dad work on the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C method anymore.
