It was hard to admit, but I needed help

I have a family of six sisters and our parents brought us up to be strong and independent individuals.

From dad, we learned how to use power tools and how to do basic repairs.

We all had to know how to work with plumbing, simple electrical work, and how to fix roofing, siding, and even small repairs for the HVAC. Mom taught us how to be women who could care for others, take care of home and ourselves. She showed us that it was okay to be soft at times and yet have a strong backbone when needed. My boyfriend is a bit taken aback by my independence, but he is accepting of it. He has watched me crawl under the house to take care of the ductwork when it comes loose. I always knew when there was a problem with the ductwork, because the heating or air conditioning was less than it should be. I had no problem changing from my dress into coveralls, so I could get into the crawlspace. Bugs and little animals didn’t bother me as I repaired the ductwork. After repairing the ductwork several times, I knew that it was time to call it quits and talk to a professional. I called the HVAC company and told them about the ductwork. He sent an HVAC specialist out to the house to look at it. He had no problem with crawling under the house and he had all of the tools he needed to fix the ductwork. He replaced that section of ductwork and I immediately noticed a change in the air coming from the air vent. I also noticed that my energy bill was much lower the following month.
