I have a cousin who owns a horse ranch.
Not so long ago, we were invited to come out.
The kids were excited because they wanted to ride the horses, but that actually made me nervous. When we got to the horse ranch, I had to admit that all those horses were beautiful. I was happy to see that there were ponies as well, so our younger children I figured would be safer if they rode the ponies for a little while instead of the bigger horses. While being out there, it was really hot, and I actually asked my cousin if they used some kind of climate control system in the stables to keep the horses comfortable. He was really happy that I asked, because there actually was a pretty nice climate control system in the stables. They actually used a heat pump that had both heating and cooling capability. He also showed me the horse trailers that were used for moving the horses, and they had built in climate control as well. They even had the climate control blankets for the winter season when the horses could use a little extra warmth. I could tell that my cousin was very passionate about the horses and he loved them all. He even has a race horse that regularly races on the tracks, and he says that horse is worth over a million dollars! I never realized that horses could be so costly, but evidently there are a lot of different factors that determine their value. I just think it’s nuts that horses can easily be worth way more than a lot of luxury cars out there.
