You need to keep your air conditioner and furnace filters replaced

If you don’t change the air filter frequently on your heating, ventilation and A/C component, then debris, dust and dirt become trapped in the air filter; the dirt and debris causes air flow problems and this is definitely one of the greatest reasons why numerous heating, ventilation and A/C components required repair! My fiance and I were reminded that it was time to change the air filter last weekend, because it was especially cold on Friday night and we turned the furnace on before we went to bed.

  • My fiance and I expected to wake up in the afternoon to a hot and toasty atmosphere! Unluckily, it was still quite cold in the house.

There was barely any hot air coming out of the vents. I decided to check the air filter, since I couldn’t remember the last time that we had changed it… Sure enough, it was completely filled and covered with dirt, dust, and pet hair. The debris was blocking the flow of air. I got rid of the outdated air filter and installed a crisp and wash 1 without any dirt or dust. My fiance and I waited an hour and we hoped that the home would get much warmer. Shortly after breakfast, I ran tests on the temperature control and it was 76 degrees in the house. The oil furnace was still running at that time, however it shut off about an hour late. I’ve been warned about dirty air filters in the past, however this is the first time I have ever experienced oil furnace problems just because the air filter was jammed. The cold winter air was a chilling reminder to change the HVAC air filter.
