People always say that you need to cherish every moment you have with your children because in the blink of an eye they will be young adults.
I always had a hard time believing this when I was battling my kids through every moment of the day.
Let me tell you, with those little turds in my household it felt like time was never going to pass. I certainly never thought that they would grow up too quickly for I would find myself reminiscing about the good old days when they were knee-high little shits. That’s why I was surprised the other day when I suddenly found a toy of my son’s from his childhood and broke down crying. I could remember the exact moment when he lost this stuffed animal as a five-year-old. Here I was, minding my own business and cleaning out the central heating and cooling system when suddenly his missing toy presented itself. I was doing my best to clean the central heating and cooling ductwork in my home because I had noticed a lot of uneven indoor air temperatures in the last week. It seems like my air temperature was fluctuating from hot to cold even when I was using the air conditioning unit at full blast. I knew that my ductwork had been neglected for many years because I have been too occupied with parenthood over indoor air quality. Finally, I had the time and energy to deal with my heating and cooling system for the first time in 20 years. Clearly my son was messing with the ducts without my knowledge. Not only does this discovery bring me back, but it’s a reminder of what a mischievous little butthead my kid was.
