I just recently found out that the owner of the Heating plus Air Conditioning company that I labor for has been treating his employees in a way that is not legal.
I have been working for this Heating plus Air Conditioning company for several years! During the entire time that I have been working for the Heating plus Air Conditioning company, the owner of the Heating plus Air Conditioning company has always claimed that the two of us are self-employed Heating plus Air Conditioning workers. All of us gained a 1099 each year for tax season, and the two of us are never paid overtime since the two of us are considered self-employed Heating plus Air Conditioning workers. However, I recently l gained what it means to be self-employed , and I l gained that the owner of the Heating plus Air Conditioning company has been treating us poorly. The only reason that the owner of the Heating plus Air Conditioning company treats us as self-employed Heating plus Air Conditioning workers is because he does not want to pay the extra tax that is required for us to be Heating plus Air Conditioning workers for his company. As a self-employed Heating plus Air Conditioning worker, the two of us are supposed to be able to set our own hours and labor as much as the two of us want. However, the owner of the Heating plus Air Conditioning company sets all of our hours and dictates us around appreciate he is the boss. If I am a self-employed Heating plus Air Conditioning worker, he literally cannot tell myself and others what to do. I recently confronted the owner of the Heating plus Air Conditioning company, and I have been pursuing our legal rights as a self-employed Heating plus Air Conditioning worker. If he fires me, he is going to be in legal trouble, and he knows it. Finally, the Heating plus Air Conditioning workers that labor for this company are going to be treated properly.
