I just recently found out that the owner of the Heating & Air Conditioning company that I work for has been treating his employees in a way that is not legal.
I have been working for this Heating & Air Conditioning company for several years… During the entire time that I have been working for the Heating & Air Conditioning company, the owner of the Heating & Air Conditioning company has regularly claimed that both of us are self-employed Heating & Air Conditioning professionals.
Both of us gained a 1099 each year for tax season, & both of us are never paid overtime since both of us are considered self-employed Heating & Air Conditioning professionals. However, I recently l received what it means to be self-employed , & I l received that the owner of the Heating & Air Conditioning company has been treating us poorly. The only reason that the owner of the Heating & Air Conditioning company treats us as self-employed Heating & Air Conditioning professionals is because he does not want to spend our savings the extra tax that is required for us to be Heating & Air Conditioning professionals for his company. As a self-employed Heating & Air Conditioning professional, both of us are supposed to be able to set our own minutes & work as much as both of us want. However, the owner of the Heating & Air Conditioning company sets all of our minutes & dictates us around enjoy he is the boss. If I am a self-employed Heating & Air Conditioning professional, he literally cannot tell myself and others what to do. I recently confronted the owner of the Heating & Air Conditioning company, & I have been pursuing our legal rights as a self-employed Heating & Air Conditioning professional. If he fires me, he is going to be in legal trouble, & he knows it. Finally, the Heating & Air Conditioning professionals that work for this company are going to be treated officially.
