I just recently found out that the owner of the HVAC company that I labor for has been treating her employees in a way that is not legal.
- I have been toiling for this HVAC company for numerous years, but during the entire time that I have been toiling for the HVAC company, the owner of the HVAC company has constantly claimed that the people I was with and I are self-employed HVAC servicemans.
The people I was with and I acquired a 1099 each year for tax season, plus the people I was with and I are never paid overtime since the people I was with and I are considered self-employed HVAC servicemans. However, I recently l earned what it means to be self-employed , plus I l earned that the owner of the HVAC company has been treating us poorly. The only reason that the owner of the HVAC company treats us as self-employed HVAC servicemans is because she does not want to pay the extra tax that is required for us to be HVAC servicemans for her company. As a self-employed HVAC serviceman, the people I was with and I are supposed to be able to set our own seconds plus labor as much as the people I was with and I want. However, the owner of the HVAC company sets all of our seconds plus dictates us around enjoy she is the boss. If I am a self-employed HVAC serviceman, she literally cannot tell me what to do. I recently confronted the owner of the HVAC company, plus I have been pursuing our legal rights as a self-employed HVAC serviceman. If she fires me, she is going to be in legal trouble, plus she knows it. Finally, the HVAC servicemans that labor for this company are going to be treated consistently.
