I wanted to find some great tips for keeping my A/C working well this year

A blocked air conditioning vent can really mess up the A/C’s ability to keep your house cooled down properly

This year, I wanted to be sure to find some great tips for keeping my A/C working well all summer long. Last year, I didn’t really try anything to help keep my cooling costs down and the A/C bills were ridiculous all summer long. So this year, I looked at several different heating and cooling blogs to see what some of the energy savings tips were that they were suggesting for the summer. The first thing that they said to do was check all around the exterior A/C unit to make sure that there is no grass or vines or weeds around it. If you have yard debris growing near the exterior HVAC unit, it could get sucked in there and tear up the fan in your air conditioning unit. Once that is done, you should make sure that your A/C system inside the house is clean and ready for use. You don’t want to run an air conditioning system that is covered in dust or spiderwebs. Also, double check to make sure that there isn’t anything blocking your cooling ducts in the house. A blocked air conditioning vent can really mess up the A/C’s ability to keep your house cooled down properly. Other than that, always make sure that your thermostat has new batteries and that your doors and windows close properly. You don’t want to air condition the entire outdoors, as my dad always used to say! If you do all of these things, you should be in pretty good shape for the summer.
